Salone del Mobile. Milano 2022 Will Take Place in Summer; the Exact Date Has Been Confirmed

It turns out that the 60th edition of the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, also known as Milan Furniture salon, or iSaloni, this year will take place in summer – for the first time ever. Originally planned to be held from 5 to 10 April 2022, Salone del Mobile has been officially postponed to June.

In January 2022, the board of Federlegno Arredo Eventi – the company that is going to organize the 60th-anniversary edition of the Salone del Mobile. Milano, in agreement with the exhibition center Fiera Milano, officially confirmed the exact date of the event. It will be held from 7th to 12th June 2022, less than a year after Supersalone, the first live fair since 2019.

Fuorisalone, as well as other events tied to the Milano Design Week, are also postponed: they will be run from 6 to 12 June 2022.

Bellavista Collection is looking forward to the summer with new Italian luxury furniture pieces to showcase there, of course.

Every Year for Almost Six Decades

The Salone Internazionale del Mobile is the oldest trade event related to furniture production and interior design: it has been held annually since 1961. The very first edition took place on September 24, 1961, and for almost three decades September became a very was special month for trade professionals. It has been so until 1991 when the time of the event switched to April, and for 18 years the Salone was a spring fair. 2019 edition was the last one held in spring.

2020: the Year Devoid of Trade Fairs

We all remember too well what happened next. The notorious coronavirus pandemic messed up the plans of businesspeople and trade professionals. With trade events canceled all over the globe and ceased production in lots of factories and workshops, 2020 became a real challenge for almost all industries, including high-end furniture production.

Salone del Mobile 2020 was initially scheduled for April 21-26 but then postponed to June 16-21, due to the epidemiological situation – only to be canceled altogether a bit later.

The new date was set for September 5th to 10th 2021. In May 2021, Stefano Boeri, a well-known Italian architect and urban planner, was announced as the curator of this event, which was given the name Supersalone.

Live&Digital: The Totally new Approach to Holding a Trade Fair

The new digital approach to everyday life amplifies the influence of the live events.

During last edition, as many as 1.5 million web page views were recorded during six days of the exhibition, which is about 90,000 users per day on average.

As to social networks, such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn, the figures speak for themselves: 50,000 video views, 25,000 interactions, and 15 million impressions in total.

What is more, the iSaloni’s new TikTok account sparked great interest: the 19 videos, which were uploaded during the first five days of the fair, got 630,000+ views.

It means that virtually millions of people all over the world enjoyed the event online. The digital audience was many times bigger than the live one.

We can be totally sure that it will be the same with iSaloni 2022. Digitalization is a one-way route.

Future participants of the 60th edition can well expect “a plethora of new things.”

Maria Porro, the President of the Salone del Mobile. Milano said that “As well as celebrating a major anniversary, the event will focus on the theme of sustainability, acting as a showcase for the progress made in this regard by creatives, designers and companies.”

However, more details of the novelties of the Salone will be disclosed later, during the press conference traditionally held shortly before the event.

As to the Fuorisalone, which takes place at about the same time as iSaloni within the Design Week (in 2022, between 6-12 June), there already are rumors about its theme – “Between Space and Time”. The main focus of the Design Week will be on innovative projects.

All in all, as Maria Porro said, “The desire for a Salone is increasingly strong, which is why we are working towards an event that will allow everyone to enjoy a unique, concrete and exciting experience. We are all really longing for the Salone.”

Bellavista Collection, now a well-known manufacturer of Italian luxury furniture, turns 12 this year. The brand came into existence in 2010, during Salone Internazionale del Mobile. Since then, iSaloni has been much more than just a trade fair for Bellavista Collection.

You can be sure that Bellavista Collection will prepare a special collection for this very special trade event at the Hall 3 Xlux F 18 .
