A Dozen Years of Achievements: Bellavista Collection’s Displays at iSaloni from 2010 to 2022

2022 is a special year for all Italian luxury furniture makers, as well as their colleagues all over the globe: the 60th edition of Salone del Mobile. Milano will be held at last! The oldest, the most reputable, and the biggest trade event in the industry come back this summer in all its fullness and glory.

Bellavista Collection brand is preparing for the exhibition – and summoning up the twelve years of the company’s history. Ever since 2010, when the brand was founded, Bellavista Collection has been creating new articles and showcasing them at such prestigious trade fairs as Salone del Mobile in Milan and Maison et Objet in Paris.

Thanks to the brilliant talent of Attilio Zanni, the brand’s co-founder and all-around designer, now this collection has grown up to more than 200 pieces. Each of them is truly unique.

All kinds of furniture and lighting fixtures, mirrors, wall paneling, decorative articles – all this you’ll find in one place. While browsing through the brand’s online catalog, you can find everything you need to furnish your home from A to Z in the inimitable Bellavista style – luxurious, elegant, and tasteful.

The brand participated in a number of turnkey projects, particularly in the hospitality sector. Well-known architects and interior designers co-operated with Bellavista Collection when furnishing chic villas, guest homes, and hotels. The design department headed by Attilio Zanni also creates numerous projects, showing how beautiful and versatile Bellavista’s items are. By the way, you can see images of the latest one – Villa in Franciacorta – in a separate section of the brand’s website named CASA BELLAVISTA Projects.

Plenty of Choices

Bellavista Collection has never missed editions of the Salone del Mobile from 2010 to 2019 – the last one held live. Immediately after each event, the former showpieces went into production, joined the brand’s inventory and became available to customers. That’s Bellavista’s long-standing tradition.

One more tradition is to make every product, be it a sofa, a mirror, a lamp, or something else, highly customizable, providing customers with numerous variants of almost every item.

A good share of furniture pieces come in several sizes; wooden parts are offered in multiple veneering options, and metal details often come in a variety of finishes.

The brand constantly adopts new materials and finishes, using them for the items presented at each edition of the Salone.

2010-2013: Forming the Core of the Collection

If you browse through Bellavista Collection’s site, you’ll be surprised to find out that the popularity of Bellavista’s pieces doesn’t depend on the year each of them was designed. In other words, the newest ones aren’t necessarily the most popular. What is more, there exists a group of bestsellers created up to a dozen years ago.

These pieces have long become iconic and form a core of the entire collection, so to speak. No wonder: being beyond changeable fashion trends is a distinctive feature of Bellavista style. Its items will never go out of vogue.

It’s impossible to describe all these remarkable pieces, so let’s take a look at one of Bellavista’s iconic items per edition of the Salone. There were much more of them, of course. How difficult it is to pick just one!

Year by Year, Piece by Piece

Well, what turned visitors’ heads at the Salone del Mobile years ago?

In 2010, strict yet extremely elegant lines of ELIZABETH console table grabbed the attention of everyone who visited the brand’s exhibitor booth. The structure of this table, made of hammered cast brass with an antique bronze finish, excellently harmonizes with the tabletop that now comes in multiple options. Made of solid wood, it could be padded in belting leather (with six colors to choose from) or veneered in either of four wood species: ebony, grey sukupira (both could be with or without glossy finish), dark eucalyptus friseè, and natural sycamore.

By the way, a decade later, in 2020, this table was among the Bellavista’s pieces chosen for an award-winning design project that greatly benefitted the historic city of Muharraqt, Bahrain. A talented Bahraini architect and interior designer Ammar Basheir turned a 70-year-old dilapidated building into a high-class hotel named Nuzul Al Salam.

GRACE WOOD armchair definitely was the hit of the 2011 edition. It looked so stylish and graceful, with its feet and rear back made of wood. The veneering options include ebony, grey sukupira and three kinds of American walnut: natural, dark stained, moka stained.

The 2012 edition brought into the limelight PHILIPPE sideboard, which impressed visitors with the successful combination of wood, brass and marble. Few years later, Bellavista created two new versions of this a decade-old bestseller, with its doors clad in metal and leather.

The makeup station named AMELIA, displayed in 2013, simply couldn’t go unnoticed, so luxurious it looked. And that’s not to mention that it’s an article of luxury in itself.

JOSEPHINE sofa, equally beautiful and cozy, impressed attendees both at the Salone in 2014 and at Maison&Objet in Paris in 2013.

THOMAS dining table, showcased in 2015, has as many as seven basic models! They could have one or two metal legs; a round or rectangular top, either extensible or non-extensible. Seven kinds of oak and walnut for the wooden top and three kinds of marble for the optional top inset add even more options to choose from.

STRENG headboard, displayed in 2016 together with AMLETO bed and BEVERLY nightstand, is still among the most popular items.

The attractive rounded pattern, composed of the cast metal elements on the wooden surface of LUIS cabinet, turned the attention of the public at iSaloni 2017. Quite as its name suggests, LUIS is fit for a king!

The 12 pieces Bellavista showcased in 2018, are known under a collective name Dulcechina collection. Their design was inspired by Oriental, primarily Chinese, motifs. SHANGHAI armchair is named after a large city in China. These twelve pieces impressed the public so much that still could be seen in a separate section of the brand’s website.

One more item with a royal name, TUDOR, became a hit in 2019. This luxurious sideboard is offered in two equally attractive versions: TUDOR Bar and the cabinet version. The decorative brass studs all over their surface, as well as optional cladding in brushed stainless steel grab attention at once.

2022: Coming soon

If it weren’t for the pandemic, the 60th edition would have taken place in 2021, because this fair is held annually since 1961. Well, it was held annually until the 2020 edition was canceled, like lots of other trade events all over the world.

Now that the fair is coming back, the designers are looking to the future with optimism. The general idea of the upcoming event, by the way, is all about looking forward to the future. The concepts of sustainability and eco-friendliness will be in focus as well.

Emiliano Ponzi, an Italian visual artist and illustrator, well-known for his distinctive style, created six posters in commemoration of the six-decades-long history of the Salone. Each one is devoted to a particular decade; what is special about them is a QR code you can use to get a unique experience thanks to augmented reality.

Guess we’ll just have to wait and see how Bellavista Collection will surprise us this year.
